Advent waiting day thirteen. Sometimes I just quit waiting. I forget the point; I try to conjure up glad tidings of great joy by watching Christmas movies, listening to Christmas music and decking the halls. However, one of the needful things of waiting is actually sitting down and waiting, doing that, waiting, to give me the opportunity to think about the wait and Who and why I am waiting. Waiting on Jesus is not like waiting on a woman, where she is in one place and I another. Waiting on Jesus is taking the time to ponder His coming again, to remind our self that He is returning and that He expects us to be watching, ready, but also preparing for His arrival and getting others to prepare as well. We wait to remind ourselves of Who we are waiting on and what He expects to find us doing when He does return. “Blessed is that servant whose master returns and finds him doing his job.”
