Advent morning day 3!
We wait. But what do we do while we are waiting? Often waiting is seen as a time of idleness while we wait for what we are waiting for. A better way to look at this waiting, the waiting on The Devine, is that it is a grand opportunity to get ready. But get what ready? The most fundamental, get our house ready. That is the glory of Christian faith, it gives us a unit, small enough that we are able to manage it but grand enough that it is filled with ongoing opportunities for creative fulfillment, the family. By this I mean a man and women in Holy matrimony, children, a structure (home) a yard, and add a dog for icing. This is perhaps the greatest gift to humans. Do you ever wonder why we have homes lining every street in the world? This could be a very long blog but for space sake, I’ll ignore all the rabbit trails in my mind. The home is what we are to get ready while we wait. First get yourself ready, whatever role you have in the home, do it well all the while expanding it for the good of the home. Secondly, help the other members of the home to do well and expand their roles (encouragement comes to mind.) Lastly, make sure your home is the model home for the neighborhood by helping your neighbor be the model home for the neighborhood. Get your home ready, and help your neighbor—The King is coming.
