The Icing On The Irony Cake, Make Sure And Put It On!!!

Advent waiting day twelve
There is a certain irony to our Advent wait.  As we wait the day draws nearer when we will celebrate the arrival or our New Born King.  But as the day draws nearer we begin to long for the wait to be prolonged because we know how quickly the special day will come and go.  At issue here is that we are only celebrating that Christ came not that He will be there for our Christmas morning.  Christmas day will come and go as it always does and we will be left with the uncertainties of life while we continue to await, either His coming or our going to Him.  But there is also a great joy that can overcome the irony and our wait and it is that He did come, as a baby, and a young man, and a Savior and as Arisen, as Ascended and has promised that He WILL come again so that where He is we will be also, with Him, His Father and our loved ones—FOREVER.

The Christmas celebration is only a party to acknowledge that the Real Party is coming, we cannot imagine how grand it will be but it will be for Him because His birthday parties and ours are never going to end.
