Cherishing The Therein and Relishing That

Day 7 of Advent

I am sitting at Fair Haven in front of a fire.  It is bitter cold under a baby blue sky.  The river is a million facets of darker blue which is mirroring the bonnet above.  It’s hard to believe the world is under a curse.  I have a dear favorite coffee cup made from the dirt off my Mamaw’s grave.  I dropped it at the Art Retreat this year and chipped the handle.  Every time I use it I regret its flaw but it in no way diminishes it for me.  I cherish it because of whom I made it for.  I wonder what Jesus thought about the earth that He walked on when He came to us.  I imagine even though it was flawed He still cherished it because He made it for us.  The earth is His and all therein and we are the “therein” that He came to.  I relish that!!!
