Inside I feel so much more me than when I was 16. At 16 I felt like I was king of the world and
today at 60 I feel like I am a great “appreciator” of the sincerity of the
world, of humans, and trees and rivers and mountains of the majesty of it all,
The Divineness of it. At 60 I feel more
16 than I did when I was 16. It is the “alive”
part. At 16 I was passionately alive and
at 60 I am grateful to be experiencing what it means to
be alive. I understand the adage “I wish
I knew then what I know now!” but when I consider that, I’m not sure I could
have survived at 16 knowing what I know now with the physical body of passion I
had at 16. I might have collapsed out of
exhilaration. One of the great gifts of
beginning to know what it means to be alive is the wisdom to slow down and live
it—there’s the meaning—Live your life Lee.
A cup that gives me life while drinking. |
