The Hand On The Shroud

Modern medicine has allowed us to measure our life, to time it, to walk with knowledge to our death.  I don’t like that.  I am with one now who has modern medicine to explain their passing, giving regular data and statistics to back up their findings.  I am the greatest fan of American medicine; they regularly perform miracles of Biblical proportions but to those bound up in dying, modern medicine often feels like the hand on the shroud.
