Have you ever been so wronged in a situation that a large part
of your understanding of your world is called into question? How could something so wrong be portrayed as
so right? Much of modern art was created
because of this one truth. It is hard
for the world to go through two World Wars, kill 100 million people and not
experience a massive shift in worldview.
This absurd world, manifested in cynicism and skepticism, was reflected
in art in two ways, nothing makes sense not even art, or clinging to the
elements of art as the only pure constants on earth. One vital part was left out, God. I have found that when I am in one of these
situations, as an artist, God will allow me making art to bring His peace and
understanding to my situation.
