God
is a marvelous Being, kind, extravagantly generous and always wooing us with
beauty, meaning and sincere experience.
Sometime in this dark night, our motion light came on and a fox was
slowly walking along our porch no more than 10 feet from where we slept his fat
tail ripe with the chill of the night. I
laid my head back down and said, “Thank you Jesus.” Now at the first hint of dawn, I am reading
and a small rabbit hopped along the same path as the fox, again, “Thank you Jesus.” In the very ancient book of
Exodus I am reading God’s specific plan for His Tabernacle, the materials list
is wonderfully rich and beautiful, gold, silver, bronze, blue, purple and scarlet
cloth, fine animal skins, incense, oils, and precious stones. And now dawn and The Great Tennessee lies
like a silver valley between my mountain and the one beyond covering all manner
of teaming life and hidden treasure. The
screeching world is just a click away, humans clawing at one another after
their pound of flesh and seconds of fame.
For some reason, this all reminds me of those most significant words of
Neil Armstrong as in relief, knowing he had been saved from certain disaster,
he utter, “Tranquility Base here, the Eagle has landed.”
