Why Mark Twain Wrote Adventures of Huckelberry Finn

I often urge my students to go jump in a river, climb a mountain or walk in the woods.  Nature sets the bar for artists, it establishes what is true and what is beautiful but its greatest benefit to artists is establishing a need for gratefulness for Whomever was ingenious enough to conceive of water, smart enough to create it, kind enough to give it away free and sincere enough to cause it to stir the hearts of artists.
