Great Wrath

I have been reading the Prophets and Minor Prophets for a few weeks.  One thing that is undeniable, Great Wrath is a name for God.  Nothing is exempt from His Scrutiny and eventual His Righting and by nothing I mean NOTHING.

I sometimes make a pot and it has a slight flaw.  I know it but I fire it anyway and then glaze it and fire it again all the while conscious of its flaw.  Sometimes I even live with the pot a while secretly hoping it will find a sincere place in my life.   However over time a strange thing occurs; the flaw grows to overcome my sympathy for the pot, the flaw hasn’t increased but my dissatisfaction with it has.  I know what a good pot is and living with a flawed pot is untenable.  Here is what I do.  I go outside and hurl the pot against a great pile of limestone.  It is cathartic, Lee Benson as great wrath.

An un-flawed pot.
