When I was an undergraduate a graduate student, Mercedes, told
me that time was my greatest asset. I
have never forgotten that. Time gives
each one of us the necessary space to be.
How we choose to be inside this space is critical. Here is an example. I often time how long it takes me to
accomplish daily chores that I dread, two minutes and 34 seconds to unload the
dishwasher. Once aware of the short
amount of space I must occupy in order to accomplish it I am more able to do it
without the accompanying dread. Dreaded
tasks are made longer not by time but by attitude or how I choose to occupy the
space time makes. Here is another. Time as measurement is 2-D. Time as space is 3-D. That is why I am a sculpture and a
sculptor.
