Utilitarianism of Snow

It is snowing this morning.  Snow is the perfect natural phenomenon. (Disregard if you live snow prone areas)  It is rare.  It has no ecological function or significance.  It serves no natural purpose.  It is rain, turned pure white solid.  It quietens the world and drives us indoors, under covers and near fireplaces.  Can you imagine sitting in a vacuum and conceiving of snow?  I imagine God’s roll out of snow in heaven and the younger angels tumbling around in it with joy, while the older ones stoked the home fires and made the hot chocolate…and all relished its debut on earth.
