A
fat toad sat on my porch in the dark of morning. I placed him in the grass and told him good luck
and to be careful. I read the Bible, the
accounting of early man ending with Noah, the flood, and the rainbow. When God made the rainbow Genesis records
that He made a promise to Noah, his family and to all the birds, cattle and
wild animals that He wouldn’t destroy the earth again. I smiled that the toad and I had something in
common, and not just any something but a really big something, God’s promise.
