Offerings of grain, wine and honey, blood being spilled from living animals, art making and sitting by a kiln are all ways in which we long to reach out and be with God. The longing to be with, the desire to commune with The Absolute in all things, Preeminent in the true religious experience, that seems to awaken in us the sense of what it means to be a human being. It is this desire that seems to make being with fire, kilns, clay, water, air, sound, power, moon lite mornings, coffee and The Most Sacred Living Text, a most sincere garden where He is. The Most Sacred Living Text will do but the others seem to be blazes that mark the trail to The Garden. However, in the end, it is the renewing of the surroundings that God enlivens, to woo the heart of those who long for Him. His renewing might even make a trash heap do—it’s truly that good—He’s truly that good!
