Possession Is 10/10ths Of Hiking

*One of the great benefits of hiking is that it releases us from the burden of visual covetousness.  In our modern world we are bombarded with visual images, humans, cars, iPhones, homes etc.  Our eyes create in us a continual and relentless desire to own which leads to slavery to possess, which readily moves to covetousness.  However when hiking we are relieved of the burden of ownership.  No one can own a tree, a river, a mountain or a waterfall, we can only enjoy it.  Another readily available benefit of this is it can lead us to ask, “Who made this?” which is a worthy question to consider.
