A few years ago, while idly lecturing to a group of freshman art
students I heard myself make the following statement, “I have lived on this
earth longer than I will live on it.” I
had never thought it or heard it but it just came out as if I were giving them
the time of day. I cannot tell you how
many times since I have thought of that statement.
