The Lord’s Prayer begins, “Our Father…” What I didn’t know until
yesterday is the word Father that Jesus used here is best translated into English
as “Daddy” and carries with it the understanding of our relationship to God as
small child to Loving Father. It is the
same “Daddy” Jesus used when He cried out in the garden pleading that He wouldn’t
have to die. Sometimes, even God In
Flesh, a grown man, understood that humans are never really more than the child
we began as.
