Entertained To Death or Song Bird Sonnet

“Oh wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?”  Paul

I am getting old.  Aging is the physical manifestation of sin.  We die.  God’s salvation through Christ is the remedy for death, the greatest evil eliminated by the Greatest Good.  In this truth we can understand the statement,

“The figure is that of a live man with a dead body chained to him, carrying around a decaying corpse as punishment.”  E. Stanley Jones

When one thinks about the glory of being alive we cannot simultaneously believe that death is the culmination of that glory.  That is the most absurd contradiction in the cosmos.  Do not allow yourself to be entertained out of this consideration.

P.S.  My dark woods are filled with the songs of love birds courting one another which makes the above thoughts understandable.
