All People Look At Fire

Humans were meant to live in a garden, to live on, with and by the earth.  We are the most human when we are the most interwoven with the earth.  This allows us to be the most sensitive to The Great Almighty, to The Walk available to us.  Earth, water, air, fire are wool that are materially capable of weaving us to The Ancient of Days.  If you are going to be an artist choose one of them as your medium.

Let me explain what I mean by “slowing down” in yesterdays blog.  Technology offers us information, entertainment and options as rapidly as we can push a button.  As we push the button technology creates a profile that it uses to feed us more of what we will click on.  Now place technology in human hands and it can be programed not only to give you what you want but also to slowly, covertly develop your desires to what it wants.    A momentary consideration of this truth and one must immediately begin to consider who is programing whom?  Maybe we are all being programed to be exactly what technology wants, a human to play with. Everyone developing our technology has an agenda!   All large search engines are developed to get humans to do one thing, use them.  This allows the technology to keep greater and greater amounts of information on each of us.   It uses that information to create ways that require us to be more and more transparent in the personal information we are sharing.  This allows it to develop greater and greater detailed information about what makes us, who we are, produces our actions and animates us.  This in turn allows them to use that information to get us to do what it wants and we then are mere circus bears dancing on balls.  Now, I am not a conspiracy theorists nor a technophobe but I am becoming more and more aware of the grave risks humans face when we continually use something that is recording our every action and has the speed and computing capacity to rapidly develop algorithms that can manipulate our spiritual, mental, emotional and psychological being.  I believe Art will continually be understood, developed and produced to be the antithesis to that.  I believe that to be a Spiritual act and Art at its most sincere is a Spiritual act.
