The earth has now taken on the dark green of spring health, ripe
with rain and sun, ready to take on the long heat of west Tennessee
summer. Outside my small forest lies
thousands of acres of crop, soybean, wheat, cotton and corn each beginning
their own journey to ripe and fall harvest.
The inequality of benefit seems enormous as if the earth might become
concerned with the disparity of our relationship but like its Father Above, its
benevolence knows no prejudice.
