The Healing of Our Thanksgiving

God never heals you back to normal even though that would be miracle enough; He heals you back to abnormal, abnormally reborn into a consistent and prolonged state of gratefulness.  Every thing counts in this new life, every touch, every blink, every sunrise, every smell, every butterfly and jet in the sky, every thing counts and points directly to God Almighty.  But the greatest surprise is the unfathomable kindness of this, “It rains on the just and the unjust.”  What happens when you are healed is not that you become conscious of every grace but that you now have a great need to thank Him for every grace.  That is one of His greatest healing to provide for you a cause and ability to be, in a state of constant thanksgiving.
