The Sad Silliness Of Pettiness

There was a time when I was six and Barry Goldwater ran (his name fascinated the mind of a child) and again when I was 18 when Jimmy Carter ran that I thought politics and politicians were noble things.  But now it seems to me that presidential politics is more akin to an elementary school playground and the media the class bully.  From Mr. Trump to Mrs. Clinton, Fox News and CNN and everything in-between it seems is just one sad silliness of pettiness.

I just finished biography of John Adams by David McCullough, which stunned me at the high character of humans of our earlier era.
