Faith fosters joy or
disappointment. There are all manner of
ways in which we practice faith, we all believe the sun will rise, oxygen will
continually be available, the earth will rotate, gravity will always work, and
our heart will keep beating, all complete acts of faith. Also humans are worthy of our faith,
which is why we readily drive on the interstate, invest with people we don’t know,
board planes and trains and store our money in other people’s buildings. But when it comes to God we want the facts
while facing eternity as if we would place gravity in the dock and demand proof
by jumping off the ledge.
Faith is to joy what the
interstate is to getting to a distant lover.
