The Beauty Of The Joy Of Sorrow

A great paradox is the joy of the Lord because often the joy is really a result of great sorrow that we experience at the condition of our world, our culture and our neighbors.  This sorrow is such a great longing for universal partnering with God that is not only unmet but complete foreign to our selves, it is a gift from God.  That is the paradox, the sorrow is a gift of caring, a joy that Love has come down to you, freely and with no regard for your own sinfulness and your desire for all others to experience this newness of meaning while at the same time living with the truth that most will reject it.

This is in large part why we make art; it is often trying to explain this paradox, the beauty of the joy of sorrow.
