“You (God) cleaved the earth with
rivers.” I read that verse this morning
and was struck by the beauty of the sound of the word “cleaved” and of the
meaningfulness of it. I looked it up to
encourage me.
“To split or divide by or as by a
cutting blow, especially along a natural line of division, as the grain of
wood.”
Our family reunion has been this
week. We have been in a stone cabin
beside a roaring creek cleaved long ago by God.
But there is a great mystery occurring in our family. Zac’s fiancée, Britt, was unable to
come. Each of us has felt an expressed a
great loss that she is not here. Our
hearts has been cleaved along a natural grain of God’s love to welcome her into
our abiding care. This cleaving is God’s
gift, His way to abundantly add to the joy of our family’s existence in Him. Britt is our new “river” cleaved long ago by
God to water and bringing new life to our family.
We miss you Britt!
