Being good almost always includes doing good and doing good almost always results from being good. However it is a fool who does not know himself as abased in his own merits of being, we all have urges toward folly, sin, and meanness which we often act upon or fail to suppress. Good is the realm of only The Devine and can only be fully apart of us as we are apart of Him. A genuine understanding of this fact is critical to humans good. It is one of the highest truths, the knowledge of our absolute need of being saved from ourselves. Good’s highest manifestation is love and love’s loving unconditional. In that, we find our most lacking and our greatest need but by sheer, unbelievable grace, it is demonstrated toward us in God, “while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” I don’t know who invented Valentine’s Day but I know Who invented love. I’m sure He is delighted in us all using His invention.
