I
had two art experience yesterday, one involving a color pencil drawing and one
involving dead leaves. Our home is
covered with art and our yard, every fall, with leaves. I happened upon the drawing yesterday morning
and stopped and gazed at it. It produced
in me a most serene happiness as it harkened my mind and heart back to the day
I first saw it and the meaning that it had produced in me. It had been there all along but for this
brief moment I lived a richer life for it.
Later in the day I was raking the leaves that are so thick on our
yard. Underneath would be the most
brilliant green of moss, of dark auburn earth, of light gold grass in
hibernation. Sweeping away the leaves of
dead brown allowed me a moment of joy as I reveled in the life still so vibrant
in color lying just below. Color, like
art, like God must be seen with eyes wanting to see. Oh how wonderful to daily want to see God and
Him faithfully revealing Himself. God
please give us eyes that hunger to see You.
