Sweet Drowning Out Contemporary Culture

Micah 3-7

It’s dark in the woods, the soft chorus of crickets hold close to night.   An occasional acorn falls.  Way off, in the deep dark trunks a sweet bird’s song begins.  I can feel my heart.  The bird’s song is the underline on many of the verses this morning.

In a world of dark, wickedness slithers around, cultures light funeral pyre’s to encircle governments and evil is so bad that they cast themselves upon one another; a Still, Sweet Voice sings softly to the ears of those that will hear underlining His message,

“With what shall I come to the
         Lord
And bow myself before the
         God on high?
Shall I come to Him with
         burnt offerings,
With yearling calves?
Does the Lord take
         delight in thousands of
         rams,
In ten thousand rivers of
         oil?
Shall I present my first-born for
         my rebellious acts,
The fruit of my body for the
         sin of my soul?
He has told you, O man,
         what is good;
And what does the Lord
         require of you
But to do justice, to
         love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your
         God?”  6:6-8

Don’t you just love sweet birds in the dark of morning!!!
