Jeremiah 41-45
Murder, slaughter and arrogant disobedience
fill these chapters and in the middle is a sorrowing account of human’s
hearts. The children of God cry
out to Jeremiah ‘In God we trust’ but in the end they declared,
“As for the word you (Jeremiah) spoke to us in the name of the Lord, we
are not going to listen to you.”
44:16
I am in one of the great cities
of the world listening to church bells ring beautifully every quarter hour,
ringing out into ever home and hamlet.
Next-door is a quaint little building, old as the city with architecture
to match. It houses Gucci, Eve
Saint Loren, Christian Dior, Cartier and others.
I wonder who hears the bells.
