The heater just kicked on and in it is all the magic of mankind.
I can’t imagine what early man thought of winter but one thought I am sure of,
“BOY IT’S COLD!” and one other, “BUILD A FIRE!”
Building a fire in a metal box, hooking it to pipes running to all the
rooms of a home and placing vents in all the rooms was one of the great feats
of man. Forget climbing Everest or
reaching the North Pole, building home heaters was one of man’s finest hours.
Of course if I had to pick one to put on my resume I would unquestionably pick, “Invented fire.”
