I Timothy4-II Timothy 1
Paul finishes one letter and
then begins his last and the sincerity of love he has for Timothy seeps through
the pages into our own hardened hearts.
Paul’s death is eminent but there is no sign of the melancholia of
questioning.
“For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love
and discipline.” II Timothy
1:7
Paul has learned that love is
the greatest disciplined power on earth.
It captured him and;
“…I am not ashamed; for I know whom I have believed and I am convinced
that He (Jesus) is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.”
12
Paul knows his life is in Good
Hands!!!
Beheading of Saint Paul by Algardi Tradition holds that Paul was beheaded in Rome by Nero. |
