Acts 17-18
Christianity answers this one vital question: who has
authoritative truth? Every
culture, every nation, every human life lives under authority, someone or
something that defines their life.
Today most westerners live under the authority of the individual, the
autonomous self.
This is what our reading is about today. Who has authority? Every human being will answer that
question and then be held accountable for their answer.
“Then
Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been
given to me.’” Matthew 28:18
Jesus will allow you to save yourself even into
eternity. The only problem is we
can’t save ourselves.
