Proverbs 8-11
“The fear of the Lord is the
beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” 9:10
Wisdom and understanding, how
deeply removed these seem to be from contemporary culture. Fear of the Lord does not mean you are
scared of Him but it does mean that you acknowledge and behave as proof that
you know that wrong actions are wrong and have consequences. That’s the theme of these
chapters. It’s the theme of all great
and enduring cultures. It’s often
not the theme of our culture.
There are two many choices to
trust our life to our mind or heart.
We’re too easily swayed by our desires. That’s why it’s critical to seek God, to know His ways, so
that our life is a reflection of good, not SELF.
