When our churches become so
physically comfortable and entertaining we run the risk of beginning to believe
that this is normal that this coziness, purchased by wealth, is common. After we have lowered ourselves to this point
the next more deadly belief is soon to follow; this comfort is our right.
In other words it is impossible to
empathize with the tragedy of suffering of our brothers and sisters around the
world when we only see it on two 480” video screens in our sanctuary.
