In The Back Out The Front

I think yesterday spring ran around the calendar, and while winter wasn’t looking snuck in the back door.  Sometimes the only way to get the job done is faking off those that don’t want it done.  What ever the case I hope winter has packed his bags and springs showed him the front door.

"I Am The Greatest" me

I am very unique, there is only one of me and only has or ever will be.  For the most part I have been encouraged to be me my whole life.  It is fulfilling being me and the more I live in realms that encourage me being me the more fulfilled I become.  The older I get to be me the more three great truths seem evident; Someone knows me as someone who i haven’t completely become and encourages me to strive to be that “more me”.  Secondly, my greatest me is fulfilled as me being a part of all the other “mes” around me and last but most important, me as truly me can only be me in Someone else.

On Super Bowls and Super Dads

As I was studying this morning I happened to think, “who is my authority?”  I pondered that for a moment, thinking back over my life.  I was surprised to realize that as a youngster Joe Namath and my dad were my authorities.  By authority I mean someone who you looked at as true and then tried to be that true.  These two men, Joe and dad, are very different people except in one regard, they both lived faithfully modeling their authority.  One won a Super Bowl.  One won my heart.  One got a ring.  One got a crown.

When your heart is at stake you better choose wisely.  It seems, as I get older, my heart is at stake every day, mostly all day every day.  I once taught a whole summer on Hardscrabble Mountain in Colorado on the verse, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.”  Winning someone’s heart is quite a feat.  The great grace of my morning this morning is that my dad didn’t win my heart for himself but for Someone Else.  Thanks dad.

Enough Declared The Dogwood

Some winters, like gnarled wounds, continue to fester deep into the flesh of the year pushing away the rebirth healing of spring.

I like winter, the deep cold slumber of January, but I do not like its sleeping carcass rolling over on the delicate flowers of April.

Enough is what April and Buttercups say and each buds receives a hearty “Let it be so!” from the Dogwood and Cherry.

So I sit upon my recliner throne and pound my Apple scepter and declare it spring and winter banished… and then I quietly pray to The Master of us three.

Opportunity

What will this day hold for you?  Opportunity.  But opportunity for, to do, to become, to see…what?  The most sincere answer to that is opportunity to live, to be the fullest you you can be.  There are two great truths that will help you be you today.

1.    Everyone that has ever been or will be gets 24 hours in their every day.
2.    The day you die your inbox will be full.

Opportunity?
