The Sad Silliness Of Pettiness

There was a time when I was six and Barry Goldwater ran (his name fascinated the mind of a child) and again when I was 18 when Jimmy Carter ran that I thought politics and politicians were noble things.  But now it seems to me that presidential politics is more akin to an elementary school playground and the media the class bully.  From Mr. Trump to Mrs. Clinton, Fox News and CNN and everything in-between it seems is just one sad silliness of pettiness.

I just finished biography of John Adams by David McCullough, which stunned me at the high character of humans of our earlier era.

"Choose You This Day..."

If you choose to live life to its fullest potential it will awaken you everyday before anyone else even knows the day has begun.

A Unifying Theory of Science

I cannot understand love, why the sky is blue or why the bird sings in the dark and yet science seeks, from a foundation of atheism, a unifying theory of the universe.  An analogy would be for a man in England to place a single drop of ink in the ocean and a man on America’s coast believing he will find it.  To say that God does not exist is to believe “I can find the drop.”  Only the mind of man created by God allows for either thought.

Why Do You Wake Up?

If one is awakened only for the creating of commerce then he will stand before paradise and wonder what all the fuss was about?

The University of Art

I have three art degrees but am fully aware that no degree can teach you how to make it or what it is.  All my degrees were spent learning manual and mental skills by which to craft objects but to make art no one dared even speak and to what constituted art was so enigmatic that no one even bothered to consider it.  Since that time I have learned that a simple walk in nature is the best University of Art to learn both what it is and how one might make it.  In fact nature’s University of Art is so prestigious that ones own back yard will suffice.  There you will find beauty that not only is present but also seeks to live in vital relationship with the viewer, spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.  However like all great education, it is only to be had by the most committed student.

The great question for the artist is Who is the Founder of The University of Art.
