I believe there to be a certain world
that is inhabited by the wild things, by fish and bird and furry beast, by the
silently easing of the river as it slowly slides above its bed and the clouds
that once formed far off and now again above the plateau. It is cardinals tweeting and grass greening
and the smell of the lake ripe and pungent that resides over all of humanity
and groans out to God, “Oh God how long will you tarry with these humans?”

All The Shades Put On
All of winter has been folded neatly
in cedar-lined coolers
And silently stowed in cellar, cool
and safe for the long hot
Spring has come, green as moss on river
rock
Fresh as a wedding gown wrapped in
tissue
Smelling like jasmine, lilac and dark
earth turned once more to sun
Summers coming; you can see it in all
the shade put on

The Nurse Of Full-Grown Souls Is Solitude
“The nurse of full-grown souls is
solitude…
Every morning lean thine arms awhile
Upon the window sill of heaven
And gaze upon thy God
Then, with the vision in thy heart
Turn strong to meet thy day.”
James Russell Lowell
One of the greatest views is night
becoming day, dark becoming light. It is
God reminding us of what is to come; “I will make all things new!”

Why Birds Sing
Birds singing are a recurrent theme
of mine. It is because my every morning
is filled with them. It seems that my
awareness is not something I have become aware of but is a gift I am
continually granted. My awareness is,
more often than not, drab and heartless but I am often awakened to beauty and
goodness. Each time I am amazed that me,
someone so fruitless, is blessed with an abundance of goodness not originating
from me…as if I know that if I could sing I would sing like a bird…because we
all know, animals can’t sing.

A Moment Of Praise
Color reigns in spring, azalea’s,
irises, and new rose buds. I wonder how
color came to God’s mind? Was it a natural
outflowing of His creating light or did everything become visibly white and
then He decorated with accents? Whatever the case it was one of His
most brilliant moments! Right up there
with His making our eyes see.

A Glass Praise or There Are No Windows In Caves
Nothing is more indicative of
Creation than the invention of windows.
We have an overwhelming need to live under the sun, in the garden, to be
one with nature. We also need to be dry
when it rains, warm when its cold, safe when it storms. Windows are a micro evolutionary adaptation
within a set species. Windows were
invented to let light into our lives while keeping everything else at bay. The fact that we get the bonus of seeing into
the garden is a product of Devine Care in making sand melt transparent. There are no windows in caves or closed
minds.
