Tennessee Chyanne Psalm

“I (God) have filled him with the Spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all kinds of craftsmanship, to make artistic designs…”;  “He (God) also has put in his heart to teach…”  Exodus 31: 3-4; 35: 34

The first filling of The Spirit was accomplished in an artist to teach people about God.  May the call never be taken from us as we continue to be found faithful to the call.

Birds Hearts And Polaris

Cardinal lovers perched on my feeder this morning.  The male cracked seed and proudly offered it to the mouth of his beloved.  He would on occasion hop atop the feeder, and protectively survey my yard while his baby continued to eat.  There is a certain rightness to the cosmos from Polaris to a Red Bird with his heart aglow.

A Christmas Spring

The buttercups have come and gone, as have the red buds, tulips and the cherry blossoms.  However the azaleas are beginning, the iris’ are out of the ground, the hostas are unfolding and the rose of sharons have put on leaves.  It reminds me of Christmases past when gifts were wedged under ever bough and the big day was a long procession of children opening one gift after another.

God sure knows how to put on a Christmas spring.

The Tree Of Life

The sculpture is complete.  You have finished a good work.  Worn and ragged, hands swollen and battered, back bent, prayers answered and lover soothed; I turn for home.

I often know why You rested on Sunday.

Ramada Grotto

I am continually in hotels in strange cities in the early morning dark reading my Bible, meditating and drinking coffee from a gurgling pot on a sink.  This morning I am twisted up in the bathroom because my wife, two sons and one college student sleeps in the room.  A grotto only in my pressed imagination.

Grotto at Notre Dame which Betty and I have visited
