Beauty is an obsession that makes addicts of us all. Consider our mania for it and the many
counterfeits we accept for it. There are
three standards for all beauty, our mothers face and the colors blue and
green. All beauty is first tied to love
and secondly to gratefulness and always, exclusively, introduces God. Counterfeits produce covetousness reality
produces praise.

An Abiding Sadness
The same country that made Mr. Smith Goes to Washington now
makes House of Cards. That is difficult
to accept.

What Color The News Is
"Stand and consider the wonders of God."
When I was a child I can remember being at my aunt’s home and
she would be watching two men on TV, Huntley and Brinkley, giving her the news
of the day in black and white, no color on TV and no colored news. The only thing colored back in those days was
life. Now we have colored news and media
has replaced reality. Our greatest need? To realize that life is still the only thing
that comes in real color and that the color of media, like most of what it
colors, is fake. Turn off your TV and go
outside and look around. It is really
nice and that green and blue are real.

Job's Dawn
I read in Job this morning, “Why is light given to a man?” I
fully understood his statement! It might
just be the oft-troubled heart of the artist that has often prayed for the hope
of dawn, but whatever the case, I knew. The
fact that whole light, light that spreads completely from east to west, that
opens every crevice and spares every troubled mind exists, is a fact that is
beyond understanding and our ability to adequately praise. When He conceived and created daily dawn, He
was I AM.

He Did That
I was listening to Lynard Skynard last night, Free Bird, and got
all kinds of carried away into nostalgia. Music can do that. Can you
imagine putting on your resume, "Music, I thought that up." Bolting up the house, turning down the hot
water, watering the plants, putting all in order. Leaving this old house that holds so many
memories. Reminds me of that song…
