Blueberry Grace

My lover and I were talking about blueberries this morning; she buys them for my health.  Blueberries are a lot like grace.  When you get a really good blueberry the taste is miraculous, it is a taste that is extremely rare and rarer still that we get to experience it.  It is like that one blueberry is reminding us of the un-fallen Eden when every blueberry tasted like a blueberry.   The blueberries we get, (ours from Winter Haven FL, in and of itself, an apt contrast to Eden) taste like a weak substitute of what we know, even if infrequently, to the true potential of the grace of blueberry.

Whittling Away Gold Bars

If I am not careful I can become unconscious to the daily living that the grace-filled gift of time and space gives me.  I can awaken often during any day and realize that I am not living but existing, much like life support, whittling away the golden bars of life.  One of the greatest gifts is being aware of living, the ability to continually know you are alive.  Faith, lovers, family, nature, art, poetry, quietness are some of the things that continually awaken us to the moment to moment of living but One Being is tasked with that prompting, The Holy Spirit, He is responsible to continue to aware us of God who offers us many ways, including those above to know we are “alive in Christ.”

Making Sense Of It All...God Before

All of life can be a way of being in relationship with God and of allowing Him to help us to make sense of it all.  However, you must first believe He is Who He says He is for anything after that to make any sense.  It does us no good to believe in a god that is in a relationship with us as we try to make sense of our lives with him in it.

A $7.50 Turkey

I was reading in Leviticus this morning the 27th and last chapter in The Living Bible,   vs. 1, “The Lord said to Moses, “Tell the People of Israel that when a person makes a special vow to give himself to the Lord, he shall give these payments instead:…vs. 7, “A man over sixty shall pay seven and a half dollars…” about the price of a small turkey today.  Don’t know what the verse implies or why I thought of a turkey in comparison but both seemed to give me a good idea of my self!
