HUMBLE bravery

To be encouraged by Scripture to come boldly before God is incomprehensible when considering the power of even God’s existence.  Old Testament belief declared that one would die if one were to be physically in the presence of God.  Even if God were to be on one side of the universe and you on the other you would still be confronted by Him, if only fractionally, because He created the universe so the entire cosmos would be Him and then there would be you, standing next to Him.  “Come boldly” still has as its foundation, humility!

Remember It Is A Human

I am continuing to consider how to raise a human in preparation for a lecture I am giving in February.  One of the main goals in raising a human being is always remembering you are raising a human being.  Everything you do and don’t do will have some bearing on the person they will become.  Keeping this in mind will force you to continually evaluate what you are doing.  It is more important what you are doing than what you are saying.

One of the great joys of parenting is knowing that you have significant power over the type of person your child will become.  It is intimidating and difficult work but the rewards are so fulfilling.  

Worthy Of Being Alive

The joy of living, of being alive, of knowing consciousness once more is to rage against the primal reality of death.  There is no greater acknowledgement of God than to know that life, as a conception was the most brilliant idea ever.  Along with that comes the thought, what must Eden Earth have been like to be a worthy home for eternal human life?  Exploration had to be a priority for it seems that life’s zenith is the discovery of God.  Exploring The Tennessee River to know, love and praise God is worthy of being alive.   

Selling Tums

It is folly to engage in political wrangling, popular culture debates and lingering long conversations over news.  Studying the Bible, stream hiking, making art and mountain exploring are useful exercises for mind, body and soul.  Those others are only good for Tums sales.
